I born a lover, and a love blamer
Therefore, I became most miserable
When passion hits me, my eyes flutter
A heavy grief amuses my chest
By my first love, when my soul is clear
My soul is Iraqi incites horses
I stretched heart for her in each hope
To find a noble temper & goodwill
To award night attachment by repel
And award night repel by attachment
Me is Iraqi in love, repel & attachment
For this passion, I was a lovely creation
I caught in loving Iraq, since I was young
Years grew over it in seasons
Iraq’s houses are of scent origins
Stretching waterwheels & hosting guests
Don’t delve into its sorrows, me
Glanced the Virgin at its shores
Don’t play for deeds are mounts
Let it live & leave fast
No hosts, no invaders, no dictators
Can release a braid
So, ask the sun, not to be lost
As Iraq is eternal over time
If Iraq’s night extended & wailers
Beat a long time on its chest
Dew would erupt, also space & daisy
The earth’d draw its polished sword
Death’d play with death when
Sleeping is shy on its violated chest
Abu-Nawas tempted drunkards
But they made Iraq as collapsed dunes
If the wind occupied Iraq, it would
Repel it with palm trees
Euphrates is in love with Tigris
On the shore, they’re meeting long
To utter peace, among green hills
To divide plains
In poetry festivals, I spill my tears
Hot on wounds to kindle fires
I read Hussain’s elegies by heart
As be glory psalms in murdered wedding.
