
Mark Fiddes
Mark Fiddes graduated in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Merton College, Oxford University. He lives, works and writes in the UAE. His third and most recent collection of poetry was titled ‘Other Saints Are Available’–a call for tolerance in the social media age. His poems have won awards in over 60 international competitions and been published in titles such as The Irish Times ,London Magazine and Poetry Review. He is a frequent performer at international events, from the Emirates Literature Festival to UK’s Ledbury Festival and Versopolis. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts Freeman of the City of London, a Prize winner in the
U K National Poetry Competition, the Montreal Prize, Bridport Prize, Ledbury Prize, Ruskin Prize, Oxford Brooks University Prize, Robert Graves Prize, Stephen Spender Translation Prize, Charles Causley Prize and many more. He is married to Spaniard Maribel Xammar with two sons Alec and Sergi. Through the good times and the bad, he is a loyal supporter of Fulham Football Club.
