Nature’s Gift
Nature shining with its green allure,
Has leaves with intentions deep and pure,
But they’ve been chopped down by men at night, Who slay the forest’s power and might.
At the break of dawn, go and see.
The land is barren and has lost its glee, The birds have fled and animals’ roam, To find a place to call their home.
The Earth is changing before our eyes,
For humans are blinded by their lies,
They think their actions are just and true, And don’t dare think the consequences through.
But to those of you that dwell in sleep,
Thinking of all the riches you will reap, Solemnly, I tell you, your land will be gone, With all the wheat, rice and corn.
Earth’s time is being robbed away,
Into the desert you’ll be led astray, The sands of time are shifting fast, Don’t think that this paradise will last.
You have taken away our lifesaver,
Robbed her of all her help and favor,
Now we must bear all her weight,
Since we stole from a power so strong and great.
However, we can change our ways,
With the work of countless days, Together we can stand united for the cause, And correct the wrongs and the flaws.
To build a world balanced for all,
To still go on regardless the fall, To make people just and fair,
To walk on land where no one dares.
To all the hands that reach out to hold,
The trees, the grass, the water untold,
We must go far and transcend the past, To make the world sustain and last.
So, to you and the next generation,
Beware of your actions and their effects,
For we can build a world so great, With a bit of hope, work and faith
