Building a Sustainable Future, together
Deep, deep in the jungles we see, A tiger cub running free.
He sees a butterfly and his curiosity is piqued, Little did he know what he would come to see.
He chases and chases, until his little paws are tired, The butterfly was long gone and it flew skyward.
He pouts and prepares to go back home, But stands still in shock as he observes the biome.
Bottles and caps line the floor,
He had never seen such a place before. Mounds of trash in the place of trees, The floor stood still in its silent pleas.
But the tiger, being a young little boy, Played with the waste like it was a toy.
When he ventured further, he heard a voice, That gave him no reason to rejoice.
“You must, you must, you must go back!” The voice cried out like it was a fact.
“These dreadful grounds aren’t for you,”
“There are safer terrains you must go back to.”
Confused and scared, the cub retreats, Staring at his little paws in defeat.
He wants to play, but it’s far too risky,
To his demise he may be led had he been too frisky.
The actions of man have led to this,
Destroying oceans and nature’s bliss.
Creatures hunted to the brink of extinction, Ruining our planet without restrictions.
Waste upon waste everywhere, Is there land left to ruin anywhere? If we venture into the path of destruction, How can we avoid imminent corruption?
Now, we must focus on sustaining our planet, And avoid taking its resources for granted.
The lands and the oceans we should strive to conserve, To maintain the beauty of our planet Earth.
Let’s join hands and do what we can, To save our planet, we must make a plan. For the goal of protecting what we have forever, Let’s build a sustainable future… together.
