Tomoko Kikuchi, orignally from Fukushima, Japan, moved to India in 1992. Tomoko completed her B.A. to Ph.D Hindi literature in 2005. An awardee at the 9th World Hindi Conference in 2012, she has published numerous books, primarily focusing on translation Hindi and Japanese, and writing about the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. Tomoko has been engaged in exchange activities related to peace education with children in India.

Tomoko’s connection to this art form is deeply influenced by the poetic works of her esteemed mentor, Dr. Daisaku Ikeda. His verses are imbued with profound love for humanity, a deep appreciation for nature, and an ardent passion and longing for the realization of peace. Dr. Ikeda’s words, resonating with eloquence, serve as a guiding force, inspiring Tomoko to embrace the transformative power of poetry in expressing the beauty of love, nature, and the unwavering pursuit of peace.

Tomoko translated many books into Hindi from Japanese as well as into Japanese from Hindi. She has received many awards from the Government agency for her contribution to promoting Hindi literature.

Some of the books published by Tomoko have been, “MAHADEVI VARMA KI VISHVADRISHTI” – Academic book in Hindi. “HIROSHIMA KA DARD”, “MAIN DOONDH RAHA HUN” “NEERAV SANDHYA KA SHAHAR, SAKURA KA DESH”- Hindi translation of Hiroshima related famous Japanese storybooks and comic. “ANGULIYON KA ORCHESTRA”- Hindi translation of visual impairment related  Japanese comic. “INDO NO KYOIKU” -Education in India, INDO BUNKA DOKUHON – The Book of Indian culture in Japanese.
