Muhammad bin Taher bin Hussein Al-Jilwah
Muhammad bin Taher bin Hussein Al-Jilwah is a Saudi poet and writer, from Al-Ahsa. He was born in the town of Al-Qarah, Al-Ahsa Oasis (eastern Saudi Arabia). He has retired from the Saudi Telecom Company in 2002. He is the Founding member of the Board of Directors of Al-Ahsa Literary Club. He has also been the Member of the Board of Directors, administrative officer and director of public relations for Al-Ahsa Literary Club from 2007 – 2019.
He has written the wrote the popular poem, the eloquent al-Amudiyyah, and the ta’fila poem. He also wrote a monthly page entitled “Fada’at” in the Saudi “Arabic Magazine” for 11 consecutive years. He has Participated in many poetry evenings, festivals, conferences, forums, cultural, literary and intellectual official and civil seminars inside and outside the Kingdom.
He has received various Honorary Awards :Al-Qarah Sports Club in Al-Ahsa in 1999, Mouwasat Charity Association in the continent in 2000, Ibn al-Muqrab Literary Forum in Dammam 2014 , Al-Nawras Cultural Forum in Qatif: 2015 , The poets of Al-Mutanabbi’s tent in Al-Ahsa 2020, The Saudi Journalists Association in Al-Ahsa, as one of the pioneers of journalism, in 2022. He has prepared and presented 39 episodes of a diverse cultural program called (Palm Tree and Boat) on the Saudi Cultural Channel during the year: 2013.
