Like a Phoenix in Fire
I am a survivor,
Till the last day I shall fight.
You may push me into the dark,
But I will be my own light.
When you set fire to my soul,
I shall rise from the ashes.
And all your bitter twisted lies,
Will never stop me from touching the blue sky.
I was a glass mirror,
The ones that broke me beware,
Not because the shattered glass shards shall hurt them,
But because these shards shall turn into flowers and lay out a carpet for them.
The days that I thought were the hardest,
Only made me tougher.
When you try and defame me,
Remember I always come back with my blood even redder.
The challenges I faced and looked in the eye,
I did not run away, nor did I sigh.
What doesn’t kill makes you stronger, a wise one once said,
And as long as I persevere, I will come back and leave nothing unsaid.
I shall rise again,
My wings shall spread out,
And I will fly even higher,
Like a phoenix in fire.
