He was on his way to the top,
And on the stairway, he hopped.
Wanting to reach the roof,
He hopped as he spun on his hoof.
On a stair he had sat, his heels he had pat.
As he tripped over onto a step,
Pain trickled as he fell flat,
Silently whimpering as he wept.
What could he have done?
Staying there helpless was no fun.
He stood up determined with courage,
Though the pain, he did not feel discouraged.
Grabbing the railing he spun up,
Groaning as his pain build up.
He took mild steps as he reached the top,
Resilience can happen, from a simple hop.

About the Poet 

Albin Patrick is in the eighth grade in Abu Dhabi Indian School, Al Wathba. His favorite subjects are physics, and computer science, and loves mathematics. He has earned many prestigious trophies throughout his life such as the Hamdan Award, International spelling bee and International maths competitions, and his favorite hobbies are sports, reading, writing and painting.
