Embrace
The beauty of my skin that used to burst with colors
Now replaced with reflecting windows and steel of silvers
My hair of green vines and trees that served as shelter for all kinds of feathers
Now turned into stubs of cut trunks and bald branches, became a fort of hungry scavengers
I noticed many loved the rain, the soft droplets eased their hearts from pain
Although, I never thought they loved the pour that extremely,
That they’d make reasons for my tears to heave down endlessly I would shed all my tears for them, so long as they’re happy
But why have they forgotten to think about me?
Other than the rain, many loved how the sun shone over the land
The subtle heat of its touch along with the calming breeze that I controlled with my hand
But now it seems that they prefer the smoke belching out of their fearful factories
Just to test out their insensate theories
Disregarding the thought of how it would hurt me and damage my protections
Oh, what has been running in their minds, with all these despicable decisions
Please remember and bring back what I used to be
Before it’s too late for you, and for everybody
Wouldn’t you prefer your next generations meeting me?
Or would you rather live in the dark, tainted surroundings you’re running towards with this degree
I am whom you, along with the world, call their mother
The warmth of the embrace I gave you, however
Will never be given back, at least never with ease
Would you ever understand that an embrace of sincerity is all I plea?
