The Other Me
Countless are the times I tried to reach you
Slipped from my hands when I touched slow
Took a little long to know you were playing through
And it seems you are doing well than I do.
I tried going ahead knowing that I am a million miles behind
But it didn’t take you long to trick me back to the start
Revenge was the only thing to hold myself up
Just to find that you could push me down in a snap
So I tried to pay you back
But looks like you turned away, leaving everything, everyone
The feelings I had first
All together curled up my fist
I began the search again
In the darkest of blacks and the brightest of whites
In the highest ups and the lowest downs
Nowhere to be found, I let myself to drown
I Found myself screaming my heart out
Locked up in a dark room, cursing it all
Didn’t realise your presence until the lights came
I teased me, to forget that you were good at the game
I let out my anger and frustration
You just stood there smiling
You knew that the words I said were serious
But, it seems they didn’t make you furious
When calmness overtook me,
You came over, still that smile fresh on your face
And said that I looked everywhere except the right place
I refused to agree to it, still believing in me
But the answer you gave shut me down lifeless…..
That, I have searched everywhere except in myself
