Rawda El Haj
Rawda El Haj Mohammed Osman is a Sudanese poet. She is the first Sudanese poet whose poems are used in Arabic Studies. Rawda has done her Masters in Media from Khartoom University and Pre Masters in literature from Um Darman Islamic University. She has also received a Diploma in Higher Media from Khartoom University and Diploma in Radio from the Arts Institution. Rawda also has the Literature License from Arabic Language Department, Al Neilain University.
Rawda is the Cultural Secretary for Student Union, Kasla School from Girls and Cultural Secretary for the Arabic Language Society, Al Neilain University. She is also a Member of Union for Literature and Arts. Rawda is the Founder and Chairman of editorial of the Al Samar magazine. Her poetry focuses on higher studies in Sudan and globally.
Rawda is the winner of several awards for creative work in literature. She is the first woman to win an award in the creativity festival in Sudan, 2003. Rawda also has received the Al Zubair Award for Excellency and Creativity in Science (Youth Group). She has been conferred the best Arabian Female poet title by Poetry News Agency, 2008. Rawda has received the Okath Award, 2012.
Few of her publications include Nest of Poetry, On the Cost, The Heart Confides, The Dream Has One Wing, and Poems That Seems Not Mine. Rawda has also written a book on poets from Sudan and writers from Sudan. She has also translated some poems into Arabic and French.
