Ali AlShaali
Engineer Ali Al Shaali is an active member of the Emirates Writers‘Union and is best known for his two anthologies of poetry titled A Bee and a Rababa and Faces and Weary Others. He has been the CEO of Dubai International Poetry Festival, 2009. He has also participated in many poetry soirees and literary events. Ali is currently the Senior Director of Publishing and Translation Department, at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation; where he was mandated in March 2008 to contribute to the Foundation’s strategy of firmly establishing it on the region’s cultural scene.
Ali Al Shaali is a graduate of the Mohammed bin Rashid Programme for Leadership Development. He has remarkable business development skills coupled with a wide range of technical and managerial expertise that sets him apart as one of the UAE’s young leaders.
Ali holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the UAE University, and a Master’s in Project Management from George Washington University, USA. He is a trainer at the Students Training Program, Dubai and has been selected as script writer for the Arabic version of Sesame Street, Mubadala in Abu Dhabi.
Ali Al Shaali has presented and participated in many literary events. He has a strong presence in exhibitions of calligraphy and art. He is the Founder and Director of Dar Al Hudhud, He was part of the programme A Constant guest (2011 – 2012) and In the presence of the book on Sharjah TV.
