Earth’s Swan Song
By Dimitris P. Kraniotis
Our house in a desert
Without the garden’s green
Trees out of ashes
We are thirsty and drowning
Without pollen the spring
Winter without snow
Woke up, we’re old
In the sky our gaze
On the ground, always alone
The sea filled with plastics
Dies without dreams
Tomorrow looks for hope
A child like a moon
Illuminates our minds
Being right makes us angry
A thousand deaths darkness
Nightmare that deludes us
Earth’s swan song
