And We Rise Again
Hundred miles down the same road,
fallen and started again a thousand times.
Spoken words manoeuvred for goad,
could unbending and resting be crimes?
Snivelling faces and desolated hearts,
what could possibly be the gain?
Even if ecstatic or in parts,
we shall rise again.
Looking up I catechize life.
The sky looked down and asked,
“ Is it not within yourself the strife,
which is there in vast?”
Slowly I reach out within,
and uncage the phoenix inside.
Swiftly I raise my chin,
and watch the beauty; higher it does stride.
And I realise I am doing,
what all lives did in their reign,
hope in hearts, heads up, spirits brewing,
and we rise again.
