From the other bird’s message that he bought
Long long ago in a village
I saw a beautiful bird sitting in a cage
It seems that the bird is flake as it didn’t move
But if you look in her eyes, you will presume
It is crying for a hope of freedom but couldn’t express
As the courage of that bird got depress
Days passed by and she didn’t sleep
By looking at her condition, I started to weep
But one day another bird came to her and she moved!!
Tweaking each other through the bars of captivity
It seems as if the bird in the cage was reborn
The bird had found a hope to live
And then kept trying to escape.
The flames of courage were ignited,
By the will of getting out.
The next morrow, I couldn’t believe my eyes,
The bird was out, in the moon light of night
It couldn’t have been possible without the hope she got.
About The Poet
Ishan Zalpuri is a student of Grade Ten, at Springdales School, Dubai. He thinks Poets are soldiers that liberate words from the steadfast possession of definition. Poetry has inspired him to write a piece of his creation – Where I Have Been.
Creativity and innovation of words and expression have helped him to become a Poet. “Appreciating poetry is probably like appreciating anything else. It means having the generosity to let a thing be what it is, the patience to know it, a sense of the mystery in all living things, and a joy in new experience. Passion is your joy, it is the essence of who you are. You have to just unwrap it and find it.” Ishan says, “that is true, and it is the same thing I have done, ‘Find my PASSION’. And I have realized that is Poetry
