I’ve heard it one time said, that a friend
Is like a big parachute to the pilot in the sky
It must be very close, but without being closed
And to carry all that burden, and to go with the flow
And to offer strong bonds, which the pilot could grip
While he hurtles onto earth, on that very scary trip
For it needs to unfurl, at the moment of freefall
And it has to protect, and to keep him in its walls
And to land very gently, without any jarring shocks
On some soft golden sand, far away from the rocks

I have also heard it said, that a friend who does not
Come to help and protect, is like one parachute
Which does not open up, at that very crucial moment
For you won’t ever need him, on your next long descent.
