We, The Torchbearers
The starless night gave a piercing gaze
To us, lost sailors, who sought paths to take.
With no light in sight, no star to chase,
We dared not wander; stayed still and afraid.
Dread had drowned the ocean’s lulling sound,
And screaming waves echoed in the moonless dusk.
No hope or fellow folk could be found,
So, we allowed the darkness to deceive us.
But deep within our lone, sleeping souls
Was a fire destined to be rekindled.
All along, we’ve had an inner glow
With a burning purpose to enkindle
This fire has not only warmed our hearts
But has also made us bearers of glad tidings.
Now, we can be our own beam in the dark
And rekindle a torch of stars colliding.
We are torchbearers who have risen
From the deepest of seas and dimmest of nights
To carry perpetual heat and light.
Together, we will restore the harmony of lives.
Never will there be a starless sky,
For we, torchbearers, will raise our flaming torch
With the heat that shapes and light that shines,
No path on land and sea will go unexplored.
