A dream of peace.
It seems so near,
Yet, it’s never
Quite within reach.

It is a goal
That has transcended
Boundaries and creeds
Since time immemorial,

Yet, never once
Has it lasted,
For hate and anger
And greed thwart it.

It is a dream
Truly a dream for, we are told,
It is nothing more than a fancy,
A futile hope.

Yet we cling to it
With desperate hands.
It is not a far off wish,
It is a goal within our reach.

Peace for humanity
Is an aim to unite,
For what is more human
Than to desire harmony?
