Accusation of An Innocent
Life has obliterated my existence
The truth well hidden
In a bottomless pit
The lies have been told
The wounds have inconceivable depths
The accusations and assumptions
Caused unstoppable misery
Oh, how I dread that day
He held a blade to my neck
While the guardians were banging on the door
I scream with all might
Yet he pays no mind
Frightened to death
Yet I shed no tear
An innocent child
Being accused of an unforgivable sin
A sin I had never encountered
The lies shadowed the truth
Like an eclipse
That will forever stand
By the day
The truth shall be revealed
I may forever be a sinner
To their eyes
May the truth be revealed
About The Poet
Abeer Faisal is a shy, sweet, sensitive, and kind student at Al Khaleej National School. She observes people to learn more about them; the most special characteristic of her is her eye that captures the littlest details. The first time she wrote a poem she was in her junior year, she said and I quote “it was the problems I faced that triggered this part of me that I never knew existed, if not for the hardships I wouldn’t be a poet.”
