A Place called Home
Is the world we live in cruel and
dark Or is it one of a dazzling
kind?
Is the light helping us
envision? Or just making us
blind?
Is it a place we can rely on?
Or is it place so
unsteady? Filled with
battles and prejudices
Have we given up
already?
What is it we’re truly fighting for?
Is it for honor and pride?
Or is it the never-ending greed
Which unleashes a beast from the inside?
Do we continue to endure?
Without taking a moment to
pause. An absurd race we run
looking forward,The view
surrounding us is a lost cause.
Why don’t we take a break and breathe in?
Slowly breathing out as we look around,
Reaching out our hands to acknowledge each other’s presence
While our feet firmly hold our ground.
Contrary to being ahead of one
another we are now standing
alongside, Regardless of
winning or losing the reward is
in the fact that we tried.
Although the change might be small
A significant value is enkindled,
Blurring out the ups and
downs It is all about
finding the middle.
A place of tranquility
Where hatred and discrimination would cease to exist,
A place of concord and peace
With sprinkles of kindness and goodwill in its midst.
We might call it too good to be true
As it is a place still unknown,
Yet, by rekindling our values we can achieve-maybe not an ideal
place of perfection, but at least a place we can call home.
