Ode to Resilience
Here you are-
In spite of facing it all,
In spite of depression’s- silent call,
Through the darkest of nights-
Shone over the brightest of all lights.
Feel accomplished of your resistance,
Your resolution- your final resolve.
Be proud of how far you’ve come,
Of what you’ve been through,
And how you handled it all.
Be proud of how you’re still standing
Even after being knocked down,
The hardships made you open your eyes,
To see the true colours of the world,
And see your actual worth,
For what you actually are.
Although you’ve been broken, beaten, and bashed,
You’ll still piece yourself back together.
Because that’s what resilience is
Now you can finally share your magic,
Helping others overcome their burdens,
All because you aided yourself.
There- in the gloomiest of times,
Struggling to discover the truth,
Picking through the wreckage of your life,
Swirling in the grip of a cycle- a storm
Taking command of the inner force,
Slowly doubts die and new you rise.
Resilience in you shines like a sliver of sunshine
Peeking through the blinds,
As the sun slowly makes its way
Back into the sky.
