The Poetic Heart 2015 Edition
The 4th edition of The Poetic Heart took place in February, 2015 at ‘The Cultural and Scientific Association’ (The Nadwa) in Dubai. The guests of honour were H.E. Ali Humaid Al Owais and H.E.Sultan Saqr Al-Suwaidi, Chairman of the Board Nadwat Al-Thaqafah wa Al-Uloom.The 2015 edition of the event saw a noticeable increase in poets as compared to the previous editions, with a total of 21 poets participating. Poems were recited in English and Arabic.

21 poets recited their poetry in a total of 11 languages over the two day event. Some of the notable poets were Shaikha Al Mutairi, Dr. Daisaku Ikeda (poems read by someone else), Dr. Ali Jaffer Al-Allaq, Prof. Manfred Malzahn and Jasism Al SihayihPlease find their profiles and compositions here.
Musicians of The Poetic heart 2015
The 2015 edition of The Poetic Heart had SGI Gulf’s chorus band Naseem sing ‘Morigasaki Beach’ a poem about friendship written in 1948 by Dr. Daisaku Ikeda. Jason Carter played the harp beautifully and Juki Valipakka, a Finnish jazz vocalist, singer/songwriter, guitarist, blues harpist and a soul and blues performer sang at the event. This was followed by a magical performance by Kamal Mussalam on the Oud.Musicians at the Event.
The Schools of The Poetic heart 2015
18 young school poets from 17 schools participated in the event. Poems were recited in English and Arabic. School students from 8 schools across the emirates recited their compositions on the second day of the event. Click here to read their profiles and compositions.
