The 2014 edition of The Poetic Heart saw participation from poets such as Dr. Shihab Ghanem, amongst others, who had been part of the previous editions of the event. The two day event witnessed budding, young school children recite their poetry on the second day of the event.Please find their profiles and the compositions here.

The 2014 edition of The Poetic Heart had a much larger representation of musicians. It marked the introduction of Naseem, the chorus band of SGI Gulf who sang a song titled ‘Ha Ha Yo’ which translates to ‘Oh Mother’, a poem written by Dr. Daisaku Ikeda.  Jazz flute player Nestor Torres gave a stunning performance and Kamal Mussalam, founder of Arabic Fusion bands Kamal Musallam Trio and East Mania gave a melodious performance on the oud and guitar.

Benny Prasad, the inventor of Bentar, the world’s first bongo guitar gave a performance coupled with a narration of his experiences. 10 year old singer Bisweena enthralled the audience with an Arabic song celebrating Dubai’s Expo 2020 win, written by Dr. Shihab Ghanem.Musicians at the Event .
