The Poetic Heart 2013 Edition
The 2nd edition of The Poetic Heart took place in February 2013 at Dubai Knowledge Village. The auditorium was packed with people from different spheres of society, sharing the common desire to create heart to heart bonds in society. The youth formed a prominent part of this event. A total of 367 people attended the event.
The Poets of Poetic Heart 2013
8 esteemed poets participated in the 2nd edition of The Poetic Heart and recited poems written in Japanese, Arabic, English, Malayalam, Persian and Italian. The poets included Dr. Shihab Ghanem, Dr. Qais Ghanem, Silvana Salanpour, Prof. Francesca Corrao, Talal Salim al Sabri and Chemmanam Chacko.
Two students among many others who submitted their poetry were given the opportunity to share the stage with the eminent poets. Menatalla Hany Mohamed from Cambridge International School and Aditi Naik from Winchester School recited their poems on peace and the power to bring about change within our hearts through poetry.Please find their profiles and the compositions here.
Musicians of The Poetic Heart 2013 Edition
The 2nd edition of The Poetic Heart witnessed poetry being accompanied with music and singing. Dr. Nizar Ghanem played the Oud and recited the poem ‘Ya Munan Nafsi’ written by Dr. Qais Ghanem and ‘The Waves’ by Dr. Shihab Ghanem. This was followed by a musical medley between Jason Carter and Dr. Nizar Ghanem. Distinguished and notable singers such as Sami Yusuf, Jason Carter and Dr. Nisar Ghanem graced the event with their presence.
Schools Representing The Poetic Heart 2013
A total of 5 schools participated in the event, namely STC – Abu Dhabi, STS – Ras Al Khaimah, Cambride International – Dubai, Greenwood Dubai and Dubai Modern High School.Please find their profiles and the compositions here.
