Astray I laid in the ripples of my mind,

Locked away I couldn’t feel my heart beat.

I trembled before the eyes of the world,

Tried me like fire, but I wasn’t going to accept defeat.

Like the stars far away, we hoped to shine,

Unwarned of the times, darkness conquered.

Swept away by the tides of agony, we drowned,

Sighed for hope, but our voices we’re left unheard.

We covered our faces, not in shame,

But in fear of our lives being robbed away.

The oppressor may’ve had his feast,

But we will take this no more, not ever and surely not today.

As I walked by the pastures,

I crossed my heart hoping to feel again.

To feel love and not the suffering,

But I ended up seeing empty footsteps down the lane.

All this affliction, just because we’re human?

Can’t we put aside our differences?

Together we’re invincible, beyond our imagination.

From the ashes we’ll sore up and put away the clutches.

This is the time we rise and show what we are made of.

Together, distant or nearby we will together, rise.

The universe lit up with the hopes of resilience,

Throughout the mountains and all the way up to the skies.

We’re not broken, we’re not worthless,

We are the daisies adorned on Gaia’s crown.

This world can be truly detrimental,

But if we stand by each other, we are never going down.
