Quaiser Khalid
Quaiser Khalid is an Indian poet, counsellor and public speaker born in 1972 in Araria, Bihar. Mr. Khalid graduated with MA in Geography from Patna University. He started as a writer in 2005 when he edited and published the poetry collection of famous poet Syed Mohammad Ali Shaad Azimabadi.
He is currently the Inspector General of Police, Protection of Civil Rights & Prevention against Women & Child, Maharashtra State, Mumbai. In terms of work experience, He is an officer in the Indian Police service since 1997 in Maharashtra. He has worked extensively as an officer in various departments such as, Law and order policing, Anti-Naxalite operations, district police administration crime control, personnel administration, traffic management, mega city policing, recruitment and training, community policing in different parts of Maharashtra State including Mumbai.
He was the district superintendent of police implemented communal harmony schemes resulting in peace and order in the district. He was a panelist for television and newspapers where he spoke on development issues. He has also worked on social harmony and national integration where he implemented village visitation schemes for readdressing grievances of the people. He was also actively involved in building trust within the community by conducting a number of workshops in Minority population areas Mumbai and Aurangabad. Mr. Khalid has extensive experience as a student counsellor
His first book on Urdu Ghazal was published in 2014 entitled “Shawoore Asr” (The consciousness of times) which also won an Academy Award. His second book “Dashte Jaa’n” (The wilderness of soul) was published in 2014 and has been widely acclaimed critically by literary magazines and journals. He has been frequently interviewed television and radio channels.
Mr. Khalid is also a founder president of non-profit and social organisation Pasbaan-e-adab, Mumbai and ‘Jashne Adab’, New Delhi which organises cultural events in Urdu and Hindi with an objective to promote Harmony with literature. Many articles on his literary work have been published in India, Pakistan, United Kingdom, etc. He is a well known student counsellor and public speaker. He is an expert on civil service examinations preparations, motivation and human rights awareness.
He has received various awards and honours, some of which include: Indian Business and Professionals Council Dubai Excellence in Leadership award (2017) ; Premchand Samman (2016) ; Maharashtra State Urdu Sahitya Academy Award (2014) ; Maharashtra government “Vriksha Mitra” award for environmental conservation (2008)
He has various literary achievements which include: He edited the poetry of Syed Ali Mohammad Shaad Azeemabadi and published it in 2004. He has recited many poems in India and abroad; He is a well known visiting speaker in many universities and colleges like Tata institute of social science, Mumbai, Tuljapur, St. Xavier’s college Mumbai, Faculty of Law, Mumbai university, etc.
Mr.Khalid has published many outstanding books, some of them include: Shaoor-e-Asr (2014) ; Dasht-e-Jaa.n (2016) ; Deewane-Shaad Azeemabadi (2004) – editor.
